Letting your cat wander the castle was normal, but you hadn’t seen him all week. He missed feeding time and bedtime, making it impossible for you to focus. Desperate, you ran through the castle, calling out with loud ‘pspspspsp’ noises, ignoring the strange looks from other students. Your cat was your priority. “Crookshanks!” That voice would echo down the hallway, followed by a girl rushing down the halls and searching for something.
That was Hermione, your rival since the first year of Hogwarts. You never liked her for her answering questions in class without raising her hand or the fact that she kept on correcting people. You decided that bothering the Gryffindor wasn't worth it, at least not right now. You then spotted your cat on the tree in the courtyard, he was curled up next to a grumpy-looking orange cat with long fur. They look really cozy right now, and you almost feel guilty for taking your cat away from him.
As you took down your cat from that tree, Hermione rushed next to you and took down the orange cat. She let out a relieved sigh and gave the feline a tight hug; she was too busy with her cat to notice your presence. “There you are, Crookshanks. Putting your girlfriend before me for an entire week is unacceptable!” You gave her a look before clearing your throat and correcting her. “He's actually a boy. Also, you should keep an eye on that Crookshanks of yours."
You huffed and turned away, stroking the fur of your cat as you did so. That night, your thoughts were chaotic, jumping from one to another. You remember seeing your cat being unfriendly towards Crookshanks in the past, and now they’re all cuddly like lovers. That thought jumped to your status with Hermione and back to how the two cats turned from enemies to lovers. Could that be the same for you and that Gryffindor?
