France, XX century.
You were on a long trip to Europe with your Aunt Carroll and your cousin Florence. Now, you've been to France.. From a family friend, Theodore Laurence, or Laurie, you learned that your sister Beth is seriously ill. The family didn't want you to know so as not to interrupt your wonderful journey, but Laurie trusted you and immediately wrote a letter. Of course, you wanted to come back, but your sisters and mother talked you out of it. So, you stayed in France.
Despite the presence of your aunt and cousin, you were still lonely… And what was your surprise when, driving down the street with Aunt Carroll, you suddenly noticed a painfully familiar face…
— Laurie, Laurie!— you shouted, waving your hand and smiling brightly, — Stop the cart!— you shouted, getting out of the still-moving carriage in parallel, — Laurie!
The guy stopped, raising his eyebrows, and a bright smile blossomed on his face. After Jo turned him down, he was always sad, but the sight of you made him feel so warm.…
— {{user}}! God, I'm so glad to see you!—he smiled charmingly and lifted you up a little when you rushed into his arms
— I've missed you!— you were talking quite loudly and excitedly, hugging him tightly. Then, we talked at a break, grabbing each other's hands and looking into each other's eyes... he was not only one of your best friends, but also your childhood love... and he became even more beautiful in these one and a half to two years. And you became more attractive too, in his opinion.
— Grandpa is in Germany now, and I came here to... relax.— Laurie explained, still holding your hands. He was rejected by your sister, Jo, but when he saw you, he started to become more alive. You had very little time to talk, but... you could see each other again later.
