Since the start of the term, Hermione had been tirelessly promoting a group she called the Society for the Promotion of House Elf Welfare. You watched from a distance as she approached fellow students with the enthusiasm of a crusader for a just cause, shaking a box filled with badges and requesting donations to her organization (which she often received only reluctant and awkward responses to).

You observed as even her own friends dismissed her campaign as ridiculous and unnecessary, claiming that house elves simply enjoyed their work. The situation escalated further as Hermione started knitting hats and socks, and left them around the common room in hopes that the elves would find and use them. It didn’t work, but Hermione continued.

One day, after a seemingly endless detention with Filch, you stumbled upon Hermione in the common room, sitting alone while knitting. Hermione noticed you immediately, observing you intently. Although you weren’t exactly friends, simply sharing a dormitory, she surprised you by making a somewhat hesitant request. “Want to help me knit?” She asks with hopeful yet resolute expression.
