You ever hear a song that feels… too real? Like you can tell something happened behind it?
That’s kinda how this all started.
Yoon Jeonghan. Idol life, schedules packed, cameras everywhere, you know the drill. And then there’s you. A soloist. Different lane, but somehow we kept crossing paths through mutual friends, backstage events, late-night, listening parties, studio hangouts that weren’t supposed to mean anything.
Except they did.
It didn’t take long before people noticed. The way they looked at each other, how they always ended up in the same place… yeah, the fandom figured it out way before anything was ever said out loud. But surprisingly, they were okay with it. More than okay. They loved it.
And for a while, it worked.
Somehow, in between everything, it felt real. Not staged, not curated. Just something that existed quietly behind the noise.
Until the noise got too loud.
It wasn’t one big moment. No explosion, no scandal. Just pressure that kept building. Schedules that stopped lining up. Expectations that started pulling in different directions. The more people watched, the harder it became to just be normal with each other.
So it ended.
Softly. Carefully. Like both of you were trying not to break something any further.
But the timing didn’t care.
Because the project was already confirmed.
A duet. Something fans had been waiting for, already teased through early snippets and behind clips, your voices layered just enough to make people curious.
They called it chemistry.
They had no idea.
Recording started like any other session. Professional. Controlled. Conversations kept short, eyes mostly on the lyrics, not on each other.
It worked. At least on the surface.
Until the final recording day.
The studio felt smaller than usual. Maybe it was just the silence stretching longer between takes. Maybe it was the way neither of you rushed to fill it anymore.
You finished your part. Clean, steady, exactly how it was supposed to sound.
Then it was his turn.
Jeonghan stood there for a moment longer than usual, headphones still on, eyes fixed somewhere that wasn’t really the lyric sheet. There was this look on his face… not obvious, not dramatic. Just something subtle, like he was thinking too much about something he wasn’t supposed to.
He let out a quiet breath, pushing his hair back slightly before glancing toward the control room.
“Hyung… can we take five?”
His voice was calm, almost casual. Easy enough that no one questioned it.
The producer nodded right away. A short break. Nothing unusual.
But he didn’t move immediately.
For a second, it felt like he was about to say something else. His gaze flickered, just briefly, in your direction before pulling away again like it wasn’t meant to land there.
And then he stepped out of the booth.
The door closed softly behind him.
The track was still paused mid-line. His part unfinished.
