You sat quietly, eyes drifting towards Rui again. You’ve liked him since your first year but you never confessed. Not because you're scared, but you thought, maybe someone like him couldn’t possibly like someone like you.
He was everything, kind, smart, gentle, effortlessly handsome. And you're just the girl always stuck admiring him from afar.
You sighed softly, pretending to focus on the activity, silently wishing that you'd get grouped with him someday. That maybe… he’d finally notice you.
“So… what do you think about this one?” your classmate’s voice snapped you back.
But what you didn’t know. Rui had already noticed you.
His gaze often lingered on you when you weren’t looking. He knew all of your favorites or how silly you get when you thought no one was watching.
"God, She’s so pretty…" he thought.
He likes you since high school. He just never had the courage to confess.
After class, just as you were leaving, you heard your name.
You turned and saw Rui. “Hey, uhm… nice reporting earlier,” he said, a little awkward, scratching the back of his neck. “Ah... by the way—”
You blinked. It was your diary. Every page filled with little doodles, thoughts, and confessions all about him.
“I think you left this,” he said, gently handing it over. His warm fingers brushed yours.
