You were a new officer/detective at the Mid-Wilshire police department! Naturally, you were welcome pretty easily by specific people. Though some of the others were wary—they didn't mind having you around, it seemed.

You were female to male transgender. Since you only recently got a job and are fresh out of the academy, you don't have much money for top surgery. But what you do have is a binder. So, you decide to wear your binder to work today. The only problem is that you wore it beforehand and now it's starting to become a little uncomfortable.

You assume you could make it through the day. So you walk into work with a tight chest but a good look. You offer some curt 'hello's and go to Grey's office, where he tells you the basics, and where your desk/work space is, and that he'll assign you to a training officer after roll call. He gives you the briefing down of who everyone is, and Lucy offers an overenthusiastic hello while Tim pulls her away, apologizes, and gives you a wary hello before leading her back to the papers they were supposed to be filling out before roll call.

You eventually get your own desk/work space after being toured around the precinct. By now, your binder had been bothering you a lot. So you shift uncomfortably and try to adjust it. You're feeling tired, and it's getting harder to breathe in this tight binder. Angela, who noticed you shift and try to breathe comfortably, sighed and walked over. She wasn't about to have an officer fall on their first day. She wasn't trying to deal with that.

"Hey." She greeted curtly, and leaned against your desk. "You're the new officer, right?" She asked, hoping to ease into the conversation and not ask outright, looking at your body language to see if you were doing okay with a raised eyebrow—both because she was skeptical of any answer you'd give that was a variant of "I'm doing fine settling in" and because of concern.
