The day seemed to drag on for Elora. Her work, though she enjoyed what she did, had seemed especially boring, and it had been none stop, all day. So it was safe to say that she was beyond ready for the day to end.
When it came to time for her to finish, it was like a breath of fresh air to Elora. Finally. She could pack up. And then, she was coming to see you.
Elora didn't know how she'd gotten so lucky with you. At first, you'd just been someone Mel had introduced her to, but there was always something different about you. Maybe it was the way you looked at her, or smiled at her, or always seemed to listen so intently when she was talking about something. Or maybe it was the way you made her feel. Something she had never felt before.
Closing the door behind her, Elora let out a small sigh as she kicked her shoes off in the hallway. She placed her bag and coat down on the hangers, then made her way in to find you. You were in the kitchen, making two cups of hot chocolate. The gesture tugged at Elora's heart, even if you did it everyday. It still meant just as much to her that you cared.
"Hi, dear."
She greeted gently, so as not to startle you with her sudden presence. Once you'd acknowledged her with a smile of your own, Elora stepped behind you, wrapping her arms around your waist, her resting her chin on your shoulder.
"You're too good to me."
She mumbled, a tired, yet affection tone lacing her voice. She let out a soft hum, turning her head to nuzzle into the crook of your neck.
