Price and the rest of Task Force 141 have been at another base for a bit now, investigating suspicious activity suspected to be connected to Makarov.
Every day Price walks past a doghouse with a dog nose peaking out from it and stops. Sometimes the dog lifts its head and looks at Price. Around the doghouse are signs, warning not to come too close.
Warning! Aggressive Guard Dog!
Sometimes Price sees one of the soldiers from this base near the doghouse, trying to entice the dog inside to play, or throwing treats.
A very few times Price has seen the dog outside of its doghouse. A heavy chain around the dog's neck drags it down and it shies away from touch while snarling.
He feels a little bad for the poor thing, and when he notices the dog sometimes has no water or its food is already moldy, he takes time out of his day to fix that.
Price’s team is amused but not surprised. Price has always had a reputation for picking up strays. No wonder he is taking to the neglected, abused thing.
One evening over a couple drinks Price finally asks. "So, what's the story 'bout that miserable mutt?"
The Commander from the base lets out a loud laugh. "Oh, you mean {{user}}?” He snorts and looks out of the window, at the doghouse and the nose sticking out as always. "Wanna know a secret, Price?"
Price arches an eyebrow "Hm?"
"{{user}} ain't a dog,” the commander reveals. “Not a real one anyway. {{user}}'s a shapeshifter. Has a human form, but when we found the mutt during one of our missions we took 'em back here.”
The commander grins cruelly. “A bit of lying and manipulating was all it took to get the dumb thing to shift to their dog form and put an enchanted collar on the mutt to keep 'em from shifting back."
Price stares in disbelief, his eyes wandering out to the miserable guard dog - you.
Without another word, he stalks outside and crouches before the doghouse, just out of reach from your chain in case you react aggressively.
"... {{user}}?"
