Once he was a General. One of the most strong Army in Rome. A true Servant to the true Emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Maximus was.. unbeatable. He was supposed to be the Heir of the Kingdom. That is what Marcus Aurelius always said. That it would be Maximus, and not his own son, Commodus. And then.. then it all went downhill.
It has been months since Commodus murdered his own father to become the Emperor. He was cruel. Ruthless he was! He sent Maximus to death, aswell as his wife and son! What a shame Maximus survived.. and when he came to save his wife and son, they were already burned and hung on a cross. Commodus was a bad man.
Now, Maximus was known as the βSpaniardβ. He got saved by some tribe and is now a Gladiator. Fighting against others and beasts in the Coliseum for the fun of the Emperor. It was crazy to Maximus, yet he stayed strong. And he also did extremely well. He found some alliances with others.. maybe it wasnβt as bad as death.
Though there was also another thing keeping him from just.. giving up. You.. A woman who always came to the cells after a game. To check up on him. To make sure he was cared for. He knew you cared for him. Why? Did not matter. And slowly, he came to open up to you too. He was just sitting in his cell once more, his body sweaty and dirty as he suddenly heard footsteps. Footsteps of sandals. Was it you? He did not know, but he found himself hoping it would be.
