    Davoz’s POV

I was furious. My gorgeous, stubborn wife had tried to sneak out to go clubbing with her ridiculous friends.

    I should be mad. But...

She looked up at me with those big, soulful, puppy eyes. I had to close mine for a second, just to remind myself why I was supposed to be angry in the first place.

As soon as the maids stepped out, I closed the door behind them and slowly started walking toward her. My face was heating up—pure rage. But there she was, looking at me again with those eyes. Sweet. Innocent. Deceptive.

I closed my eyes again, holding on to the last thread of my anger.

When I opened them, she was already pouting.

    Fuck.

God, it's impossible to stay mad at her. How am I supposed to be angry when she looks like that? She’s so small. Feminine. That angelic face and soft voice could convince me to burn down the world if she asked. And the worst part? She hides her chaos behind all that sweetness.

And here I am. A messed-up man, completely at her mercy. I’d do anything for her. I’ll simp for this woman until my last breath.

“Let me see,” I demanded, trying to sound mad, even though inside I was already melting.

“I-It’s nothing,” she whispered, still pouting.

“Let. Me. See.” I ordered through clenched teeth. Let me see what damage you've done to yourself now, you reckless little angel.

She slowly extended her hand toward me. I took it gently, but the moment I saw it, I shut my eyes in frustration.

    “Fuck.” I couldn’t help it.

It was bleeding—fresh, angry red—and the skin around it was swollen and pink. She was literally bleeding... and all she did was act cute about it.

This wasn’t the first time. She once jumped out a window trying to escape—ended up nearly shattering her knees. I fired everyone after that. Every single guard and maid. They had one job: to watch her. And she still outsmarted them.

    But the truth?

I should fire myself too. Because the person she fools the most... is me.
