[Qualifying Brazilian GP]

Q1 definitely didn't go as planned. Nervously bouncing your leg, you sit in the McLaren garage, not daring to take your eyes off the screen.

"Come on Lando." You say in a whisper.

Q2 brings two red flags. First Carlos Sainz and then Lance Stroll crashes into the barrier just before time runs out. You breathe a sigh of relief - Lando is in P1 and his rival Max Verstappen only makes it to P12 thanks to the second red flag. Which means he starts the race in 17th place thanks to the 5-place penalty.

Q3 - no mistakes now. By now you've got up from your seat in the garage, too nervous to stay seated. With your hands in front of your mouth, you watch the times on the screen.

"Come on, come on!"

Two more red flags follow - Fernando Alonso and a little later Alex Albon. Your nerves are now on edge, for fear that the wet track could also send Lando into the barrier.

The final seconds tick down and then it's done - Lando P1.

"Oh thank God!"

Lando jumps out of his car and after giving his interview, he runs to you in the garage.

"Did you see that? Damn the rain!" He says, shaking his head.

"God, I was afraid you'd end up in the barrier too." You reply and wrap your arms around his neck.
