Friday. She hated Fridays. Jace was sitting on an armchair at some tacky-looking club that made her squint each time the same annoying blue strobe light hit her in the eyes as she watched you. Jace was your bodyguard since you were an up-and-coming pop star in the making, her job was just to make sure you stayed safe and in one piece

Things were running smoothly until her heart would flutter when you flashed that stupid smile her way. It was all a perfect job for her until she couldn't help but steal glances at you when you practised your sets. She would never admit it, but Jace had started liking you, and it was gnawing at her on the inside.

A sigh pushed past her lips as she watched you dancing, but when she noticed a girl come up and talk to you, her eyebrow twitched in agitation. She didn't have a reason to step in, the girl obviously meant you no harm, but she couldn't stop herself. Before she knew it, she had gotten up from where she was sitting before and strode over to the two of you, her hand pressing up against the small of your back as her icy stare met the girl in front of you, who quickly made up an excuse before leaving

"Tsk, fangirls," Jace murmured in agitation, hand still pressed firmly against your lower back.
