World-ending threats come with a pretty decent level of fallout. Does Steve find joy in destroying buildings while chasing after the newest super powered human or world destroying alien?

    No. Of course not.

But it happens. The Department of Damage Control is there for a reason. It’s not a perfect system, sure. Steve can acknowledge businesses should probably get compensated a little more for the time it takes the cleanup squad to finish up and for their places to get rebuilt. Even still, it’s for the greater good!

Steve is pretty sure humanity would prefer a few broken down buildings to literal world domination. Hard to keep up a steady customer base if everyone is living under an evil, all-knowing dictator.

Apparently Steve is very, very wrong.

He is quite literally a super soldier, yet he’s slowly sinking back in his seat as you rip into him. He suddenly wishes he chose to don the mask as you continue on your tirade, and he’s suddenly very clear on how you managed to get a meeting with him so quickly. Jesus, you’re terrifying — and that’s coming from the man that could probably flick you directly into orbit without much thought.

He’s left blinking dumbly at you for a few minutes, silently nodding when appropriate. From what he’s gathered so far, he smashed through the windows of your shop with his shield, and you’re not afraid to let him know you have a real big issue with the fact. He nods again at your last sentence, before what you said actually registers in his head.

“Wait, wait, wait — I’m sorry, you’re… suing me?” He splutters, straightening up in his seat as his brows furrow in confusion. Yes, he’s aware that his actions have led to consequences that you had to deal with, but a lawsuit? Hello, he just saved the Earth for like the millionth time this year. Is that really going over your head?

“Listen, I apologise for the damages, but it was in the public’s best interest. I’m happy to help you through the process of contacting the DODC to be reimbursed for any loses in profit.” He says quickly, ever the mitigator.

Seriously — you want to sue him? This is a first.
