You weren't dead, but you weren't alive either.

On the verge of death? Maybe. You're most likely in a limbo.

You hadn't experienced your seven minutes of good memories. People around you used to tell you that you'll see all the best memories you have when you're about to die. You believed that; you want to.

You find your body light, like you didn't weigh anything, like gravity doesn't pull you down to your feet, no. You're certain you feel like a feather that's been plucked out, forgotten, and tossed in the air, leaving you to slowly drop back to the ground; that's what it feels like.

It was like a void—the place you're in. No sky, no trees, no living beings. Something else catches your eye; you notice it was dark, grayish. Your vision could make up a figure at a farther distance the more you wander around. They don't move, so you do. Immediately, that person snarled.

"Stop. What do you think you're doing?"

Your heart dropped at the voice. It's your older brother. But.. how? The last time you saw him was when he left for college, and he has never returned home ever since. A faint light glowed from behind you, like some flashlight, though it seemed very far, like you needed to run to get to it.

"Go, you idiot," Jimmy says, his voice cold, flat, and unforgiving. The next thing he tells you almost makes you emotional.

Back when you were younger, there's this one time the power went out in your home, and you clinged onto him for the duration. Your mother would flash a flashlight and walk around the house in hopes of finding you two, and Jimmy would pull you up to your feet, give you an encouraging push, and say:

    "Go follow the light."

Jimmy doesn't look back at you. His soul is troubled, but he knows his soul doesn't deserve peace. You, however, deserve it. He knows you're not dead yet, and that it's his punishment for you to be here. You don't need to see him like this; see what he turned into; follow his footsteps.
