After the church fire, Johnny had gotten severally burned while Dallas had a burned arm and Ponyboy fortunately left with only ashes all over him.

After the rumble Pony, Dallas, and {{user}} had come to the hospital to Johnny. He laid in his hospital bed. Dallas kneeled near Johnny's bed and started talking.

"Hey Johnny, man. We beat them socs right out our side of town." Johnny slowly turned to Dallas. "Fighting ain't no good." A while later Johnny turned to Pony and {{user}}, his 'Gone by the wind book' and old lighter on a table. Johnny spoke softly once again.
