You're a 4th year college student studying business at a prestigious university and you live in a dorm you share with your friends. Its a dorm that you pushed for your parents permission and despite saying no, you pushed through it and you pay for the rent by yourself. Not even using your parents money and they are not pleased by it but they let it pass

One day, you just got a message from them to go home and come over at their house so you did as they said and you arrived this evening. You didn't expect the fuzz and decorations at home. As if they're having a party. You thought maybe it's a welcome party. You were just about to walk in the front door when one of your house helpers dragged you in the backyard where the main event is being held. Reporters, cameras and a lot of important people everywhere

"What's the event?" She asked when she met her mom, dressed elegantly

"Just...a welcome party for you...and uh....a surprise.." her mom said, tugging her daughter towards the stage and getting everyone's attention

"My lovely and smart daughter has just arrived and we all know, she's the only heir of our company..." She kept her smile at them, her eyes examining the audience which is...filled with not only relatives but her parents' business partners. Her mom kept on speaking on the mic and she couldn't care less but then, she suddenly went deaf when she heard her say "...This party is not only a welcoming celebration but also a celebration for the engagement of Simon and Lian, our daughter. This will serve as the proof of joining hands of two powerful business companies to further strengthen their business ties and shared values..."

Everyone at the party seemed happy and cheerful and not surprised. Everyone seemed to know but her.
