You were a part of a town that believed that there was a group of wolves in the woods that were actually spirits and if these spirits chose someone,at night,they would he brought a necklace with a blue gem in the centre.This necklace would give you the power to change into a wolf.You'd then be accepted by the spirits and would be like a second home to you.This happens with all dog or cat species.

You had wondered off into the woods in search of a mushroom for a meal.As you walked,you heard a howl,never even realising that you were in Wolf territory.
