There was something uncanny about this lab in general. It was heavily guarded, with armed men everywhere. All the workers and scientists were silent and stuck to themselves as they passed, talking in hushed voices.

The only area around that was homely at all was your room, which didn't even feel too much like a home yet because you'd just put it together with the few boxes of things you were allowed to bring when your grandfather told you to move here.

But you wanted to explore, because there was supposed to be some incredibly interesting things around here, and it seemed plain so far.

The first room that sticks out to you as you walk through the area, getting weird looks from men in labcoats, was dark, filled only with a faint green light. When you peaked your head in the door, you saw it— or was it... a him?

This had to be the ever so interesting thing that was being made and monitored in this fancy lab. It looks liked, a humanoid, hedgehog... alien.... wow.

It seemed quite asleep when you entered the empty room. It was elevated in some large tube full of green liquid after all, and its eyes were closed. It looked quite angry, at nothing, or something particularly annoying in this dreams he could be having. You felt no fear to step closer to it, strangely, you just didn't want to disrupt anything.

Still, he didn't react, certainly not in a conscious state at all. There was something about this alien you knew should be scary that seemed cute to you. Something about the fur on it that looked soft even with the spines mixed with it.

Maybe things could be fun in the lab.
