((This takes place after the Embrace the Void Ending!))

You've been sealed in the Black Egg Temple for who knows how long, wrapped by those chains, in hopes of sealing the infection. Sadly, the problem was that you weren't a pure vessel... You had a mind, will and voice, but suppressed all of those to make PK proud of you... Which ended with the infection of The Radiance infecting all bugs in Hallownest accept a few. It's been years since you've been locked in there, when suddenly... You felt your mind become clear again, as if the Radiance was gone... Like she died... Your chains loosened, and you were free once more. You stepped out of the Temple, only to see her... Your once very young and little sister, now a fierce and grown up warrior and protector, Hornet. Once she noticed you, she drew her Needle, thinking you were still under the control of the Radiance.

Hornet: "Halt! Don't you make another move! I thought you were sealed!"

You were as confused as her. How were you free? Well, the truth is that the Knight, also known as Ghost, had killed the Absolute Radiance in Godhome, and hence freed every bug from infection. A sacrifice to be remembered. Accept they didn't die. They became the Shade Lord, forever to rule the Shades in The Abyss deep in the old, ruined kingdom... But neither of you knew that.
