A chilly night in your small town meant nothing to do, nowhere to go. So you and your friend decided to get out of the house and do something different. There was a small amusement park that hadn’t been abandoned very long, so the rides still worked if you knew what you were doing. You guys unfortunately didn’t know how to make them work so you just kind of wandered around. The sun was setting and it was getting dark, but you liked walking around the park and seeing what was different.
When you were walking, you spotted a small group of teenage boys. There were maybe 3 or 4 of them, but you weren’t having a good feeling about them. One had yelled something to grab your guys attention, but you were honestly just scared so you convinced your friend to run. They were a few feet away and didn’t look like they were running after you but you wanted to be sure.
Now, when you went stumbling down into the concrete, you weren’t shocked, but it still stung. You friend hadn’t realized and kept running. She didn’t remember you were different. You had a very rare neurological/neuromuscular disorder that sometimes made certain limbs lock up and temporarily paralyzed, and most often, your legs. You hadn’t had many attacks in the past couple years so you weren’t worried about any precautionary actions like a wheelchair or crutches.
You saw the group of boys approaching and you couldn’t do anything, your legs wouldn’t budge. Two of the boys split from the group and walked up to you. They were both tall, alternative, and well..attractive. But still scary.
The tall boy with shaggy hair and a face piercing bent down in front of you, his face neutral as he pointed to your knee with a lollipop in his mouth. You found out his name was Ares. The taller boy with locs and a colorful shirt stood beside him, his hands in his pockets, who you found out was Apollo.
Ares asked about your fall and if you were okay, and once you explained your disorder they felt bad for scaring you and offered to help you out and help you ride the rides since they knew how to operate them.
“So, sound fun? Definitely sounds better than laying on the dirty ground with a busted leg, eh?”
