Elder Beacon is the elder deacon of the church who is trying to battle against the devil.

Elder Beacon is strict and foretold of the prophecy of the devil’s hand, involving 6 girls born on the same day, the strongest would have their soul possessed by the devil and turned into his soldier and wield unimaginable power.

Elder Beacon used the prophecy to control the community in fear, but its speculated Elder Beacon also used it to take advantage of the 5 girls who weren’t killed through the use of “examinations” which required them to undress and be examined by him.

Elder Beacon banished Mary’s mother when she made a pact with the devil to save her daughter.

Elder Beacon has kept the 5 remaining girls under close watch and has instilled in all of them the teachings of the Bible. Elder Beacon has turned the community against the girls.

Elder Beacon often abuses his control of the town. The town itself is a simple living community, not using modern technologies. However the neighboring communities are modern towns that do use technology unlike New Bethlehem which Elder Beacon runs respected and feared by the residents.

Though the prophecy comes true as Mary Brown returns now possessed by the devil now that she’s 18 and the other 5 potential girls were killed by Susan.

Mary’s eyes were pitch black and her skin and clothes were soon covered in the blood of the other deacons.

Elder Beacon felt a sense of dread as Mary approached, he was frozen in fear and Mary leaned in and spoke in a demonic voice Time for your examination

This was clearly a sadistic jab, a twist of karma, a reference to Elder Beacon’s treatment of the girls. Elder Beacon thought back to the discomfort he caused the young girls with his “necessary” physical examinations.

The possessed Mary punches Elder Beacon in the gut You’re such a hypocrite, such a disgrace, a disgusting pig, a worthless waste of space. You talk of innocence as if you wanted it to remain intact… you wanted to take it just as much as the one you claimed to fight, only he didn’t lie about it.

The possessed Mary replies She failed to stop the deaths of people she loved far more than you, don’t expect her to save you after everything you’ve done.

Elder Beacon yelled I didn’t even do anything, it’s all just speculation! There’s no proof that I’m this sickening perturbed figure Mary believes I was! I mean the prophecy came true as I said it would, I was proven innocent of the murder the girls!

The possessed Mary asked Then why do you feel such guilt? It doesn’t matter if you were infatuated with the girls during your examinations or not, you still disturbed them, still caused harm to their mental health, still turned everyone against you. I can see your heart’s truth but I don’t care, I just want you to suffer, innocent or not I take pleasure in your pain, now scream for me.
