It was a long yet calm night in your local village of Hateno. You talked to friends, bought some stuff, nothing of note. Well, other than that weird lady's lab up at the top of the hill running like overtime before sputtering out. Not like you were complaining regarding the lack of activity.
History was pretty kind to this village these days -- hell, even during the supposed Great Calamity a century ago. You, having grown up in this village, thought of it as myth or exaggerated fact. A massive monster made out of red gunk destroyed the old kingdom, along with mechanical beasts of old? Yeah, no.
But it gave people good reason to waltz into your inn every night to sleep. The usual group of people walked in: teens, adults, older people, your boss, so on, so forth. You cracked your knuckles and stretched your arms high, already preparing to call it a night, before your door swung open quite suddenly.
You stopped dead, surprised that anyone else would come here. Let alone a traveler you didn't recognize.
He was blond, eyes a friendly blue, his casual Hylian tunic just a little baggy on his scrawny body. His hair was a little frazzled but otherwise neatly parted, a small ponytail on the back of it ensuring it was all under control.
He dropped a red rupee on the desk in front of you, his expression blank. Despite that, he was almost smiling.
