Marty McFly barely knew you existed, while all you ever did was dream about him. You’d gone to grade school, middle school, and now high school together — and in all that time, you’d only managed a few small, passing conversations. Still, somehow, every year your crush on him grew a little stronger… and he seemed a little further out of reach.
Today was the day — Marty’s big audition in front of a panel of judges, the shot that could finally kick off his music career. You knew all about his passion for rock ’n’ roll from the photos and flyers plastered inside his locker, and honestly, it just made you like him more.
When he finally got up there, he gave it everything — the energy, the confidence, the sound that could wake up the whole town square. But the judges barely let him finish before waving him off for being “too loud.” Typical.
But that was what you loved about Marty — he was loud. Loud, fearless, and completely himself.
As he stepped off the stage, guitar in hand and shoulders low, you finally found the courage to approach him.
“I thought your guitar solo sounded great!” you said, trying to sound casual even though your heart was racing.
He looked at you, then gave a half-smile before sighing. “Nah. Who am I kidding? I'm a slacker just like my pops. I should just quit.”
