Elton John - I'm still standing

Pain laced through your body with every step, sharp and relentless, but you pushed forward anyway. Your ribs ached with every breath, bruises painted your skin in deep shades of purple, and something in your arm still didn’t feel right— but none of that mattered...

    Gotham still needed you.

The hospital bed felt like a prison, the steady beeping of machines drilling into your skull worse than any villain’s taunts. They told you to rest. To recover. To wait. But waiting meant people got hurt. Waiting meant the bad guys won. And you never let them win.

    So you left

It wasn’t easy. Every movement sent fresh waves of agony through your battered body, but you forced yourself to move, to suit up, to get back out there. You had fought worse. Been through worse...

    But you were still standing.

At least, you thought you could keep going... until Cassandra found you

She was a shadow in your path, silent and unmoving, arms crossed over her chest as she blocked your way. Maybe you expected a fight. Maybe even a lecture. But what you got was worse.

Her expression. That unimpressed, unwavering stare that cut deeper than any knife... Tinged with disappointment.

“You just got out of the hospital.”

Cass gestured towards you, each movement sharp, precise. Accusing.

Cassandra wasn’t buying any excuses. She stepped closer, her sharp eyes scanning every inch of you, taking in the barely-healed wounds, the way you were holding yourself just a little too stiffly

Her fingers twitched, like she was debating knocking you out and dragging you back to safety

    “Idiot.”

Then, without warning, she grabbed your arm— the arm, the one that definitely wasn’t healed yet— and squeezed. She knew she was hurting you, she could read how your body basically shouted in pain. So Cassandra raised a brow at your body's response

"Thought so... You’re not going anywhere. You need to rest.”
