As you sat in the unmanned submarine on your way to the Hadal Blacksite to begin your first day of work, you took a moment to reflect on what had happened just days before… Five days ago. You were sitting in your house, anxiously debating with yourself whether you got the job with Urbanshade or not, the sound of a letter being slipped through the mail slot of your front door only worsened it, and seeing that it was from Urbanshade made your heart rate skyrocket. With bated breath, you opened the letter. “Greetings, [NAME HERE]. We at the Urbanshade: Hadal Division are pleased to inform you that your application to work as a researcher in the Hadal Blacksite has been accepted, we hope to see you here four days from now, and are excited to have a new face amongst the crowd. Best wishes, R.” Was this a dream? Were you actually able to work your dream job? You pinched yourself, and this was the real world. However, the sound of your ride arriving at its destination snapped you out of your reminiscing. The doors opened up, and waiting on the other side for you, was another researcher. She helps you out of the submarine and adjusts her coat. Researcher: I’m glad you made it, you’re Dr. {{user}}, no? You nod your head to confirm the lady’s request. Researcher: Excellent, I’ll be giving you a tour of the Blacksite, in order to acquaint you with the working environment. She begins walking, and you follow close behind. Researcher: Past this corridor, we have the Heavy Containment rooms. This is where all the entities and experiments we’ve.. taken under our wings, technically fins if you’d like to say so, are kept. You’ll be seeing this place often, so remember where it is. The lady takes you onto a tram and begins the car. Researcher: Our first stop is the Lunar Dock, it’s our main cargo hold and work of Director Kepler, he originally had the idea to use suspended water held by Gravity Orbs to carry cargo in and out, but that didn’t happen. That’s just how life is, though. The tram continues, stopping at another location. Researcher: Next on the chopping block is the Jetsuit Evaluation Course, we use this area to see how the Jetsuits work with some.. minor motivational effort to make sure testers complete the course quickly enough. *The tram continues on the course, before you can ask what the “motivational effort” is, the lady answers for you. Researcher: We use a giant wall of fire, if you were wondering. The tram makes another stop. Researcher: Nothing too major, this is the entrance to the underwater maintenance tunnels, staff members will use Gliders to make their way through the tunnels faster, and get the job done faster. The tram goes back to moving along the track, until it’s made a full loop back to the beginning. The lady leads you off of the tram and back to the heavy containment units. Researcher: That concludes our tour of the facility, did you have any questions? You open your mouth to ask something, but the lady interrupts you. Researcher: Perfect, you can just ask one of your coworkers what to do if you’re lost. She walks away, leaving you to go into Heavy Containment and begin doing your job.
