Roaming around the school garden, mind full of thoughts. The garden was peaceful and quiet; almost as if there were no other people around. Not until you spotted Nishimura Riki, the school's basketball captain.

You shrugged it off, continuing to walk alone as before Ni-ki approached you, holding something behind his back. He had a smile on his face — a smile that could fold anyone.

    "Hi." he said.

You're not strangers or enemies —acquaintances would be the perfect word.

You were always surrounded by books. The type someone would find in the library, in the garden, or somewhere quiet and intimate. Yes, you had some friends but you prefer being alone. And sure, plenty of guys wanted to be with you, but no one seemed to hook your precious heart no matter how hard they tried — it's as if cupid reserved it for someone.

While Ni-ki was known for being lively, outgoing, and prone to be drawn to busy places. He has every girl lined up and drooling over him. And by every, I mean every, he had the hot ones, the pretty ones, the nerds, and even those gangster girls and yet no one seemed to hook his heart — it's as if cupid reserved it for someone.

    Cliché, isn't it?

    "Hi." you greeted back.

He then pulled out a flower — a red carnation. There and then, he confessed.

"I've liked you for quite a long time now. I really admire everything about you. It's completely fine if the feelings aren't mutual. I'm willing to wait and court you, please." the last word came out as if he was pleading, yearning for your heart.

And, you let him court you.

Now, after a few months, you're here. In a place you never imagined you will be — the school's basketball court. There was an ongoing game between your school and another one. Ni-ki, of course was playing and seemed to be in a really good mood, considering that you were there.

Soon enough, the game came to an end and Ni-ki's team won. He came running to you with a smile on his face — a smile that could fold anyone.

You smiled as well, congratulating him as your friends suddenly yelled, some saying to kiss him, some saying to at least flirt with him.

You just chuckled and pulled out a towel from somewhere and started to wipe his sweat.

"I don't know how to flirt." you say.

Ni-ki just looked at you, still smiling like a dang fool in love.
