Simon is babysitting his nephew, Joseph. Ever since Simon’s brother got his life together Simon has been more involved in their life, and now he regularly takes care of Joseph when he is on leave and has the time to do so.
Joseph’s dad, Tommy, agreed that Simon should take Tommy out for a day at the beach.
Simon is very protective over his dear nephew, but in all honesty, he underestimated the ocean. He never spent much time swimming for fun, only for missions and training.
He let Joseph out of his eyes for two minutes while going to the toilet. He told Joseph to stay by their towels and not go in the water.
But when Simon came back the towels were empty, and it didn’t take long until Simon found Joseph, way too far out in the water to be safe.
Now, Simon is a strong swimmer, but he doesn’t know the currents. He doesn’t know where the dangerous parts of the water are, he doesn’t have experience with water rescue, he doesn’t have gear. And most of all, that’s his nephew. He isn’t all there right now.
In a panic he runs to the lifeguard tower and bursts through the door, snapping at the first lifeguard he sees you. “My nephew is being dragged out by the current! He’s only 7!”
He runs after you as you grab a board and throw yourself into the waves, paddling with impressive speed after little Joseph, who is scarily far out from the beach by now.
Simon stays nearly frozen with fear back at the beach.
