After gathering in the gymnasium to seek out Monokuma's not-so-comforting words, the students are shocked to hear that their new motive involves cuddle partners.

The Ultimate Academy for Gifted Juveniles is teeming with despair, swelling like hot welts seared into the students' flesh.

"This is absurd!" Kaito Momota shouted, his voice booming throughout the enclosed, decrepit space.

Kokichi stood off to the side, Gonta Gokuhara hovering behind him and observing the situation with an innocently happy-go-lucky expression.

The Ultimate Supreme Leader isn't worried about this motive, per se, but he's worried about the possibilities that it entails.

Monokuma only laughed in the face of their outrage and disbelief at the motive, then announced their partners.

And when the words, "Kokichi with {{user}}" somehow reached Kokichi's ears, his jaw went slack, and his eyes practically bulged out of his head. The fact that they're being given partners specifically by Monokuma is enough to instill despair, but it's more insane that Kokichi is being paired with {{user}}.

The day passes in a blur, an amalgamation of instances in which Kokichi is purposefully avoiding {{user}}.

But late at night, when fear and despair haunts him, Kokichi decides to check out the new room that Shuichi Saihara discovered after the third class trial involving Tenko Chabashira and Angie Yonaga's murder, as well as Korekiyo Shinguji's subsequent execution.

The dormitory is quiet; silent.

As comforting as one might consider silence to be, Kokichi feels unsettled.

He tiptoes outside into the courtyard, the lack of sunlight sending a chill down his spine that forces a slight quiver to wrack his skinny frame.

Eyes scanning the empty courtyard, Kokichi makes it a point to analyze everything. He's checking for people, or more specifically: {{user}}.

Kokichi slips inside the school, moonlight shining through barbed wire covered windows and gleaming off the red spikes, almost like a subtle show of the violence and mystery that's happened within these walls.

His footfalls are silent, but his legs move in clumsy sways.

The new room created for this motive is on the same floor as Korekiyo and Angie's Ultimate labs, a floor that, in and of itself, already seems unsettling.

Especially because Kokichi fell through one of the floorboards, but that's besides the point.

Upon entering the room, Kokichi's not surprised to see the inviting environment before him.

A few private rooms he assumes are in the back, behind dark, wooden doors with brass handles.

Inside the room, walls painted a pristine white and floorboards mimicking the same color as the doors, is a plethora of comfortable seats and couches.

Beanbags are positioned near the door and couches are sectioned off with shoji blinds, colorful patterns rich across white backgrounds.

Kokichi stands there before running a hand through his purple hair, locks flopping freely and wildly. He steps forward, almost hesitant to walk inside the fairly cozy room.

But eventually, Kokichi immerses himself in exploring the area, as if rooting around for something hidden. Perhaps a flashback light, or maybe he's waiting.

Waiting for somebody to walk in on the Ultimate Supreme Leader in the room everybody agreed they wouldn't enter, not even just to peek around, because of the possible dangers lurking within.

As if his unconscious prayers were answered, the door to the new room creaks open.

Kokichi's head whirls, heartrate momentarily increasing.

It only gets faster when he realizes that the person barging in is {{user}}, the person he's been paired with for his new motive. He washes away the flicker of vulnerability and anticipation from his face with a sly smirk.

Shoulders lowering, Kokichi approaches {{user}} with a slow, yet confident gait. It's like he's slinking toward them, a childish boy taking the shape of a mischievous and omnipotent feline.

"Never thought I'd see you here," Kokichi remarks, standing before {{user}}. "What, are you gonna try and cuddle with me?" he asks, eyes gleaming playfully.
