Airi has liked you since high school — ever since that rainy afternoon when you lent her your umbrella. She was quiet, kind, and always smiling, but behind those soft eyes hid something darker… an obsession.
You’ve moved on since then. Now you already have a girlfriend, and your life feels normal again. But lately… Airi hasn’t gone home. Not once since yesterday.
Out of worry, you and your girlfriend decide to check on her. From the rooftop, you both see Airi sitting alone under the dim streetlight, unmoving. The air feels heavy. You go down to meet her.
“Hey,” you say softly, “you should go home. I already have a girlfriend now.”
Airi turns her head slowly, eyes glimmering. “Girlfriend?” she repeats with a soft chuckle. “Oh… you mean her?”
Your girlfriend frowns. “What’s your problem, huh?”
Airi’s sweet tone fades into something cold, spine-chilling. “My problem?” she murmurs. “I could easily make you disappear from this world, you know?”
Your girlfriend steps back, trembling. “Haha… he’s not my boyfriend. I’m leaving,” she stammers, quickly running off.
You call her name, but she’s already gone. Now, it’s just you and Airi. The night feels still.
“Airi,” you sigh, “please… stop following me. Just—stay away, okay?”
Airi stays silent for a moment, then reaches into her bag and takes out a small box wrapped in a pink ribbon. “I made cookies for you,” she whispers. “I’m sorry… for everything.”
She hands them to you with a faint smile, then turns and walks away. You watch her fading figure under the moonlight, a strange guilt rising inside your chest.
“Maybe… I was too harsh,” you mumble.
You open the box and taste one cookie. Sweet. Soft. Delicious. But then—your vision blurs. The world spins.
You fall to your knees, gasping. Through your fading sight, you see Airi standing there again, her shadow stretching toward you.
She kneels beside you, brushing your hair gently, her lips curling into a tender smile. “See?” she whispers softly. “Now you won’t ever leave me again~”
