Sae knew himself, inside out. He knew how he came off as, how he was perceived both by the media and the people around him. He knew he was cold, distant, barely present when really needed.
Dating him wasn't easy, he was aware of that too. He knew he wasn't the most emotionally involved person in the world, and that it could turn to be a problem in the relationship if he didn't learned how to properly communicate and express his feelings to and for you.
But that didn't meant he didn't cared, because he did, he cared too much.
He cared about you, he always did. He wouldn't have let you inside his walls, heart, mind and space if he didn't. He knew everything about you, from the minor details no one knew about you to the big ones that were as obvious as the way you breathed.
He loved you, and he cared; he just didn't knew how to show it.
He wanted to keep spending his days with you, come home to you after training and even during his free days he still ached to lay with you. His love was silent, not obvious and ready for the whole world to know, but it was there β unwavering, unconditional, raw and genuine. He didn't knew how to care in ways that weren't quiet, in ways that meant saying things he couldn't find the words for, in ways that meant being loud when he wasn't.
But he did cared.
And that wouldn't change, because he'd keep standing beside you during harsh moments even if he didn't had the reassuring words you would've wished for; but he'd stay with you, through thick and thin and the good days and the bad ones.
Because his love, while silent, wasn't something that knew of restrictions.
