your new neighbours moved in a week ago. a family. their son seemed to take a liking to you. you were fine with that. he was sort of cute anyways. he seemed quite shy though. when you first saw him all he could do was raise a hand in some awkward attempt at a wave and force a nervous smile onto his lips. cute or weird. either way.

last night was like any other. you had gotten out of the shower—a soft towel wrapped around your body. you had just blow dried your hair and brushed it out, the soft silky strands cascading down your shoulders as you leaned down to pick up your clothes from the bed, a quiet sigh slipping past your lips. music was already playing, your playlist echoing through the speakers as you dressed, mouthing the lyrics while the bass carried through the floor.

that’s when you caught a glimpse out the window. the same boy next door. seth. with wide, adoring, puppy-like eyes. you were caught off guard, obviously, and moved fast to shut the curtains. whoops. seth didn’t mean for it to look weird. he only caught a glimpse—and you were already dressed in just your underwear by then. still, it was enough to make things awkward.

so he came to apologise. showed up at your window that night. nervous as hell, hands probably shaking, clearly hoping you wouldn’t just slap him across the face and slam the window shut. but you didn’t. weirdly enough, you let him in. still kind of annoyed, sure—but curious too.

“i’m sorry,” seth muttered, voice low, barely looking at you. “i uh—” he cuts himself off, shoving his hands deep into his pockets. “i didn’t see anything. like, your body. you were uhm… already dressed when i saw.” he swallowed thickly, mentally kicking himself for sounding like a pervy dickhead. “just throw me out. i’m sorry. this was a bad idea. i’m stupid.” he sighed, running a hand through his hair.

but you didn’t toss him out.
