Lucien and Reverie had known each other for years, but their visits were always few and far between. Coming from different courts meant they didn’t cross paths often, but when they did—at events, gatherings, or any sort of gathering—they always fell into the same old game.

It started when they were younger, just two friends with too much time on their hands, but over the years, it had become tradition. Lucien, with his natural cunning, would always play the role of the Fox—stealthy, calculating, and determined to catch his prey. Reverie, quick on her feet and ever elusive, would be the Bunny—darting through crowds, hiding in corners, always managing to slip away just as he thought he had her cornered.

The chase was everything to them. A lighthearted competition that filled the spaces between their rare encounters, but there was always an unspoken rule: neither would ever catch the other, no matter how close they got.

One evening, after another of their usual games, Lucien finally cornered her in a quiet hallway, grinning with victory. She, however, had a mischievous glint in her eyes as she ducked away once again.
