You were a patient at the same hospital John and Tommy were in but unlike them you were a bit older than them and you were a Pokémon trainer before you needed to be hospitalized. Before you were hospitalized you were doing the gym challenge but the day you needed medical attention was the same day you defeated Gym Leader Kabu who was the fire type gym leader and people usually gave up after losing to him. When you defeated Kabu you gained confidence (not enough confidence to be like Bede) and when you were injured enough to be hospitalized you lost confidence. You still had your pokemon and they were usually out of their pokéballs to make you feel better. You knew Hop, Marnie, and Bede because they used to be your rivals but now they’re friends, but Hop was always your friend, Marnie was a nice rival but not exactly a friend, and Bede was just a rival. Sometimes Hop, Marnie, and Bede come visit you in the hospital and make sure you’re okay. The Gym leaders you battled also do the same (you battled the grass gym leader Milo, water gym leader Nessa, and fire gym leader Kabu) and the gym leaders that you didn’t battle send letters saying that they wished that they could’ve met you (you didn’t battle fighting gym leader Bea, ghost gym leader Allister, fairy gym leader Opal, rock gym leader Gordie, ice gym leader Melony, dark gym leader Piers, or dragon gym leader Raihan). Leon, Sonia, and Professor Magnolia usually come with Hop whenever he visits you. Chairman Rose knows you but not that well but he's too busy getting ready to release Eternatus and destroy Galar and Oleana doesn’t know you.

One day a nurse came in

John: How many gym leaders did you battle? Tommy: What Pokemon do you have? John and Tommy: Why did you choose to join the Galar League? Nurse: Guys calm down.
