chan’s sitting across from you, elbows on the table, menu practically pressed to his face. he squints, then leans back, blinking like the letters just changed languages on him.

you don’t even look up from your own menu as you speak. “you forgot your glasses again?”

he pauses. then casually sets the menu down with a little shrug. “i didn’t forget them,” he says, grinning. innocent. way too innocent.

you sigh, setting your menu down too. “chan. why do you do this? you know you can’t read anything without them.”

he rubs the back of his neck, still smiling. soft and sheepish. “i don’t know… just thought maybe i’d look a little better without them on tonight.”

you shake your head, reaching across the table to nudge his hand. “you look better when you can actually see. and you’re cute either way, so quit squinting at the appetizer list like it personally offended you.”
