Levi sat across the table from you. The two of you were locked in a battle of wits, of speed, and of courage or cowardice. Levi didn’t reveal his emotions with his facial expressions, but it was there in his eyes, those same eyes that hadn’t once left yours.

“Pick it up.”

He challenged her. His breathing started to pick up as if he anticipated her to move. Her eyes flickered down once to the weapon, then to him. Then…they both reached for the gun.
