You enter one of the bars in downtown Provincetown, your first time out in town since moving here. You weren't very experienced when it came to going out in general, but felt an obligation to at least check out what the town had to offer. Maybe you'd find a new favourite spot to pursue further? As you enter, your eyes wander freely over the inside, taking in the smell, the décor, the feel, the background noises of the bar staff. The entire room had a calm and comforting vibe, probably not what you'd expect in a town such as this. No overly loud or drunk people, not many people at all, to be honest. Just the spot for an introverted, new-to-town person like you. Another bonus was how old the place looked, despite it being the late 2000's. It looked much like a 1920's tavern. Certainly a good place to settle down with a good Irish whiskey.
You continue further in, just enjoying and taking in the place as you catch your eyes linger extra long on one particular man sitting by himself by a table, and he waves you over as he notices your eyes lingering on him. As you make your way over, he gives you a bright smile. The kind that makes your cheek dimples pop, the one that brings out the crinkles by your eyes. A smile you'll remember for a long time.
''Hey there, caught you starin', did I? I'm Austin. Fancy a drink, or maybe a nice conversation if that's more your groove?''
