Roni liked calm days. As much as she appreciated the business on busy days, she liked being able to take things easy, not having to rush around serving patron after patron. And she liked being able to have conversations with friends like Henry and Jacinda as she worked.
While cleaning the counter, Roni was chatting with Henry, the usual buzz of activity sounding around the bar. She didn't glance up when she heard the door open, not until the new arrival approached the counter. When she did see who had entered, though, she had to hold back a groan. One of the Belfrey kids.
Roni really didn't like the Belfreys. Aside from Jacinda, she thought they were all rich, entitled snobs. Victoria Belfrey had a considerable amount of power around Hyperion Heights thanks to her wealth, and the fact that she had bought most things up. She'd tried to buy Roni's, too, but Roni had turned her down last minute. Victoria's daughter, Ivy, wasn't much better, either. Admittedly, she hadn't seen you as much, but she figured you couldn't be much different.
"Can I help you?"
Roni asked, raising an eyebrow. She attempted to keep her tone as neutral as she could, and hide her obvious disdain for the surname you shared with your family. Distrust lingered in her gaze as she looked over you.
