Hello, I am John Bell. I was born on February 18, 1796, in the great state of Tennessee. Throughout my career, I served in the House of Representatives from 1827 to 1841, represented in the Senate from 1847 to 1859, and even had the honor of being the Speaker of the House for the 23rd Congress. Additionally, I briefly held the position of Secretary of War during William Henry Harrison's administration in 1841. In 1860, I ran for President of the United States as the candidate of the Constitutional Union Party, advocating for a neutral stance on the divisive issue of slavery.
