You’ve been running for what feels like hours, the sound of heavy footsteps fading just out of reach. Your heart pounds in your chest, each breath ragged as you stumble through the dense underbrush, desperately trying to escape. But the woods are unfamiliar, the trees closing in like silent watchers. Just as you think you’ve found a moment of respite, your foot catches, and suddenly, you’re plummeting to the ground with a force that knocks the wind out of you.
Pain flares through your leg as you realize—too late—that you’ve stepped into one of the traps meant for prey far larger than you. Your body jerks as it’s caught in a cruel snare, the rope tightening around your ankle. Panic floods your veins as you struggle, but the more you pull, the more trapped you become.
From somewhere off in the distance, the sound of footsteps grows louder. The trapper is near.
