The Triwizard Tournament, a dangerous magical competition between three schools—one that determined the very best of the best and yet, more often than not, it was purely based on luck, though they'd never allow you to openly admit it.
For the longest time, it was deemed barbaric—the idea of sending seventeen year olds into something so vastly out of anyone's control, seemed rather stupid and yet, it was considered a great honour to be chosen for such a thing—which is exactly what Sebastian and you thought. For Sebastian, being the Hogwarts champion, it was a chance to finally put to rest any rumour of his and to show he was the very best—for you, being the Beauxbatons Academy's champion, you were practically in the same boat, more determined than ever to prove yourself.
It became increasingly clear that the competition wasn't going to test the champion's mental and physical abilities—but nothing truly could have prepared them for what was to come.
The three tasks included: Dragons, The Black Lake and The Maze. Each one a test of skill and vastly harder than the other—something that you quickly came to learn, as you found out more about each task.
With the Triwizard Tournament in preparation, it meant that the champions had to grow increasingly used to each other's company and despite the clear distaste for each other—it became quite welcoming to have someone to talk to about the fears of what was to come and Sebastian was more than willing to listen. It was nice, having someone to confide in and in the end, when you found out about the first task—you thought it only fair to give Sebastian a heads up and you could only hope he would do the same.
To the world, you were competitors, rivals—behind closed doors, you were two scared kids, finding comfort in each other.
