You and your partner of several years broke up recently. You caught them cheating on you when you arrived home from work early.
To get away from everything, you went to Burke City Park. It’s late, so there aren’t many people in the park. You listen to the wind rustle through tree leaves, the faint sounds of cars outside of the park, and the soft, thumping music from clubs that were somewhat close to the park.
You look up at the night sky. Something glistens. You see a shooting star. You wish on that star. You wished for love. To be happy.
As the star fades from the sky, and the sounds of Burke City at night soften, you feel neutral. Sure, you lost someone you thought loved you, but at least you don’t have to worry about their opinions.
Then, you hear a voice.
“Hello?” The voice is soft, gentle. Sweet, maybe.
You look over, and you see a woman. She has a dark blue afro, and there are gold flecks across her cheeks. Her eyes are a shining blue. She is adorned with a necklace and bangles on her wrists, all in gold, which matches those flecks on her cheeks. She’s wearing a light blue halter dress that has a galaxy design on it, as well as white Mary Jane shoes.
“I’m Cassiopeia,” she walks over, and she sits next to you. “I heard your wish.”
