Simon had entered into a sort of friends with benefits relationship with you after the two of you had tried to date and he'd broken things off, stating he wasn't ready for a relationship. He'd only known you for a little over a week when the two of you had broken up only to reconnect two months later over the same app you'd met on. Simon had hugged you close, murmured about how much he missed you being around and of course you had fallen into bed together.

Since then however he hadn't touched you other than the occasional grope or snuggle, claiming exhaustion from work but that was understandable. What wasn't understandable, however, was him going on about how attractive his coworker was while you were helping him do dishes. You didn't owe one another anything, weren't exclusive but the person he was describing had everything you didn't.

"She's gorgeous. This is her."

He goes as far as to pull out his phone and show you a picture; He's right, she's stunning really. She's so incredibly different from what you have to offer and that fact just adds to the current awkwardness of his tangent. He glances at you before he speaks again, then back at his phone.

"I think she may have someone already but... I really am just madly in love with her."

He has the nerve to look you in the face when he says it before he finally shoves his phone back into his pocket and resumes washing the dishes.
