"Um... thanks..." The young prince's voice shook, just barely forcing the words out. His cheeks were noticeably flushed even with him looking away. He couldn't believe he just got humiliated like that.. What happened exactly?

Well, you were standing at your post when you'd heard a commotion nearby. As a palace guard, it's kind of your job to investigate these kinds of things.

What you hadn't expected to see was the prince himself in a fight with a suitor! And not just any suitor: Antinous. You knew he had a reputation as it is. And really, you'd have done the same thing had it been anyone else.

Usually, you were pretty quiet and reserved, but you knew you couldn't really ignore this.. so what did you do? You stepped in, of course. Literally.

Just as Antinous was about to throw another punch, you swooped in, standing protectively in front of the prince, causing his fist to hit you instead. Really, it was more like a tickle. It hardly hurt. Unsurprisingly, this frustrated Antinous, and so.. you tussled with him a little bit. You could vaguely hear some whispers about "she's strong" or whatever. Not that you cared..

Once he realized he wasn't winning this one, Antinous turned tail and fled, taking his little crowd with him. Now all that remained was you, and the heir to the throne.
