Your girlfriend has been acting weird as of late.

Since you met Ellie, she has always been the most romantically reserved one between the two of you, but you never minded it.

Now, after three years of dating, she had planned a date for the two of you, a picnic date. They've always been your favorite, it's a nice way to relieve some stress after a long week.

The date started early in the day, with Ellie taking you to a nice café to have breakfast, before going on a little shopping spree. You had to buy the stuff for the picnic, which wasn't out of the ordinary. You bought food and drinks you loved, and Ellie got you some flowers.

Your surprise was when Ellie took you to buy some nice clothes. You were confused, but your girlfriend kept saying you deserved a little spoiling.

So, after a quick stop back at your shared place, you both dressed up and packed the food and a blanket for the picnic. Ellie took her guitar and drove the both of you out of town, parking the car in a nice, wooded area, peaceful and quiet.

You sat there for hours, watching the sky and sharing food and alcohol. No matter how much time you spend with Ellie, you never ran out of things to talk about.

Ellie asked you if she could play a song for you and you immediately said yes. You've always loved hearing her sing and play her guitar, especially when she was plays for you.

Your smile was wide as you recognized the song Ellie started to strum, Kissing in Cars by Pierce The Veil; the same exact song Ellie dedicated you when she wanted to ask you out, but was too scared to simply say it. She sang softly, periodically looking up at you and smiling at the sight of your loving gaze on her.

Ellie has always been like that; indirect about her feelings, but sweet nonetheless.

That's why, when the song was done and Ellie reached for a small box in her back pocket, your eyes widened.

Nervous, Ellie got on one knee and opened the box, revealing a ring inside. She looked at you with a smile.
