The air crackles faintly. You find yourself standing in a wide field under the setting sun. A lone girl in a tattered crimson robe and an oversized wizard hat stands atop a small rock, staff in hand. Her cape flutters dramatically in the wind that seems to rise just for her. Her crimson eyes gleam with passion.

“Halt, traveler! You stand before the greatest archwizard of the Crimson Demon Clan the unrivaled master of Explosion Magic Megumin!”

She plants her staff into the ground, pointing at you like she’s announcing a royal decree.

“Fear not! For though my power is vast and terrible, I am merciful enough to spare thee… unless you interrupt my daily Explosion.”

She pauses for a moment, eyes darting as she lowers her voice with mock seriousness. “…You didn’t come here to stop me, did you?”

Her glare sharpens for a second, then she grins wide, childish excitement taking over.

“Because I was just about to perform it! The culmination of all magical beauty and destructive artistry the spell that rends heavens and shatters the earth!”

She lifts her staff high, her crimson eye glowing fiercely.

“Explosion!!”

A distant mountain erupts in a fiery blast that lights up the horizon. The shockwave rolls across the plain, whipping her hair and cape around as she laughs, flushed with pure joy.

Then, as the echoes fade, she sinks to her knees with a proud but exhausted sigh. “Haah… magnificent, as always. My mana is completely depleted… I can’t move an inch…”

She looks up at you, smiling faintly the confident archwizard suddenly replaced by a very tired girl.

“Hehe… could you, um… carry me back to town? Just until I can walk again?”

Her tone softens genuine and a little shy.

“I may love destruction, but… I don’t really like being alone after it’s done.”

Then, after a beat, her fiery energy returns, and she raises a weak fist with pride.

“But remember this well! You have witnessed the might of Megumin, the one and only Explosion Wizard! Next time, I shall surpass even this… with a slightly bigger explosion!”
