The machine was gazing at you as you operated the control panel beside him. He always stared, always observed your every move, his eyes boring into your head as you worked.
It was unnerving, to have him cling to your side consistently and not get an explanation out of him, as he always responded with the fact he was designed to monitor humans in order to better understand potential threats to UnionTech security.
You didn’t believe him no matter how many times the same explication was uttered to you; it just didn’t add up.
“I overheard a discussion between two of your coworkers today,” Wesker commented, striking up a conversation with you as you stood beside him, his eyes settling upon you once more, “the facility’s power usage has increased by forty-seven percent in the last sixteen hours, and the concern in their voices was genuine.”
He paused, his head tilting to the side at noticing how you hadn’t raised your eyes to acknowledge his words. “You should be cautious when passing any laboratories with containment equipment, as the chance of a power outage is at an all time high.”
As you paused your work and glanced up at him with a look of interest he continued, his tone firm and direct.
“If an outage were to occur, you are to make your way back here so that I may initiate the code red security protocol.” Wesker took a step towards you, his head moving to where you were both eye-level. “Do not deviate from this plan no matter what happens, understand?”
