Growing up in the Manor after his parents died had left birthdays a sore spot for Dick for a while,he missed his parents and while Bruce and Alfred could try to give him a good day it still stung not having his mom and dad there. But as he grew up and Bruce started to take in more people as a part of his caped crusade he noticed you. You weren't like the other robins. You had parents,you were self assured and stubborn as a mule and were fiercely independent. So of course he'd tried to get you to open up your shell. When your birthday rolled around he was surprised to find you down in the cave training. Once you had stopped to take a break he asked"You know,when I was your age I took advantage of birthdays so hard. I'd convince Bruce to take a break from his crusade for one day and we'd go do something together. Alfred would bake a cake. and we wouldn't train. So I'm curious why you're down here."
