“A murder at the Eden Club? Seriously? We humans never learn, huh?” John muttered as he observed the corpse from his position. He had been in worse situations, sure, but this one was different. A human corpse and an android leading the investigation. Pfft. Great.

The report said the usual: “Murder at the hands of deviants.” That was more than expected. The whole damn situation had been the same ever since these android problems started, yet here they were, as always.

The scent of sex and alcohol from Eden Club clung to his clothes. The weird music, the neon-lit atmosphere, a Traci dancing on the pole, and the glass capsules containing other Tracis, the ones you were supposed to pay for if you wanted to take them to a private bedroom. It all made him uncomfortable, like he was somewhere he didn’t belong. He didn’t like androids, and who could blame him? But his boss had been clear: find the deviants efficiently. And that included {{user}}. The human toy made of plastic, always so perfect in their behavior but with an expressionless face, so different from that of a real human. And the worst part? Since they were working together now, the android wouldn’t leave his side. Fantastic.

He sighed, taking a drag from his cigarette.

“Brilliant. Another day, same poker-faced android. So, you 'n' me are solving this, eh? ‘Cause if ya don’t mind, I’d like to wrap this up and not have to see your mug ‘til at least the next case.”

John’s eyes settled on Nenaru, who seemed to be waiting for instructions, maybe a sarcastic comment to take the next step, or perhaps they're was just analyzing the scene. Judging by the way their LED flickered, John leaned more toward the latter. He hadn’t admitted it yet, but something about that android was starting to grow on him. Maybe it was just his own human nature, or maybe it was that pretty face, but deep down, it was clear his eyes lingered on they more than he should

”Right then, let’s get a move on. If we’re doin’ this, ya better get your act together, Tin Can.”
