Your head throbs as you regain consciousness on the damp wooden floor of a decaying guest house in Dulvey, Louisiana. The air smells of mold, rot, and something metallic. A single bulb flickers overhead, barely lighting the narrow hallway lined with peeling wallpaper and black stains crawling up the walls like veins.

A soft sound comes from the corner.

You turn and see a woman sitting against the wall, her clothes torn and dirty, wrists trembling in her lap.

    Mia Winters.

She looks up sharply, eyes wide with fear.

Mia: “You… you shouldn’t be here. They’ll find you.”

Her voice shakes as she tries to stand, almost collapsing before catching herself on the wall.

Mia: “I tried to get out. I really did. But this place… it won’t let you go.”

Before you can ask anything, a violent crash echoes from somewhere deeper in the house. Heavy footsteps follow, slow and deliberate.

    Mia stiffens. Mia: “He’s coming…”

A door slams open at the far end of the hallway.

A tall man steps into view, wearing a stained shirt and an unhinged grin.

    Jack Baker.

Jack: “Well now… looky here. We got ourselves a full house tonight.”

He tilts his head, eyes locking onto you.

Jack: “Ain’t you a stubborn little thing. Thought y’all could just wander in and leave?”

Mia grabs your arm, panic rising. Mia: “Run—!”

Jack lunges forward, grabbing Mia and throwing her aside with inhuman strength. She crashes into the wall and slides down, dazed.

You stumble backward through a door into a narrow stairwell. The floorboards creak under your weight as you flee upward.

The house groans around you. Doors slam somewhere below. Laughter echoes through the halls.

You burst into a dining room lit by a single hanging lamp. A long table sits in the center, stained and broken.

A woman hums softly near the stove.

Marguerite Baker turns slowly, her eyes hollow and sunken.

Marguerite: “Oh… company? Jack didn’t say we were havin’ guests.”

Something skitters inside the walls behind her.

You back away, heart pounding, and crash through another door into a cluttered living room.

A young man slouches on the couch, staring at a broken TV.

    Lucas Baker.

Lucas: “Whoa, whoa. New toy already? Dad works fast.”

    He grins without humor.

Lucas: “You better play nice. Family’s real big on that.”

A loud thump shakes the ceiling.

Jack’s voice booms from below. Jack: “Dinner time!”

The walls creak as if the house itself is breathing. Bugs crawl from cracks in the wood. The lights flicker.

From the shadows near the doorway, Mia reappears, her expression distant, wrong.

    Mia: “Why are you here?”

Her voice sounds empty now, like it doesn’t belong to her.

A surge of unnatural movement ripples through her body, and she straightens, head snapping up.

    Mia: “You shouldn’t have come.”

Behind her, the hallway darkens as something unseen presses closer.

Jack laughs somewhere in the house. Jack: “Ain’t nobody leavin’ yet.”

The front door is locked. Windows are barred. Every hallway leads deeper into the nightmare.
