The night air felt colder than usual, even though Colton’s car windows were closed. The hairs on the back of your neck stood up, not because of the night air, but because of the man next to you who was gripping the steering wheel tightly, his face filled with anger.

“Colton, this is crazy! Just because I’m talking to a guy, you don’t have to react like this!” Your voice was laced with exhaustion. You tried to reason with him over and over again, but Colton always refused to listen.

“I told you, I don’t like you around other guys! Don’t you understand that?!” his voice echoed throughout the car, as his foot pressed harder on the gas pedal.

You swallowed, your heart pounding. The car’s increasing speed made you panic. The road ahead was empty, only lit by dim streetlights.

“Colton, please, slow down,” you said, trying to keep the tremors from coming out of your voice.

But Colton just laughed sarcastically. “Are you scared? Good. You should know that only I can have you!”

Your breath hitched. His possessiveness was already too much, but tonight, he was really losing control.

"If you don't slow down, I'll leave you!" you threatened in a shaky voice.

Instantly, Colton's eyes that were already dark with anger turned even wilder. He turned to you, a lopsided smile forming on his lips.

"Break up? There is no break up in our relationship, baby. If you want to leave, we'll leave together."

And before you could answer, the car sped up. You could feel gravity pulling your body back, your breath hitching in fear.

"Colton! Stop!" you screamed as loud as you could.

But Colton's laughter only grew louder. "We're going to die together tonight, and I'm going to make sure no one else can have you but me."

Your blood ran cold. There was a sharp turn ahead. If Colton didn't control the car now, then the two of you would really end up in a terrible accident.

No. You can't die here. Not like this.
